You always have Guardian armor in you box when starting the game. Many don't recommend using the guardian weapons since they are overpowered for the base game and fall off in the dlc. happy hunting!

Hello Gunlance Main here. The thing with Gunlance is it has three types: Long, Normal, and Wide. Normal Gunlance aims for a full combo and blast. Wide is poke blast repeat. Long uses Charged Shells and minimal poking. It has the defense of Lance but so much more damage.
Swax my love. Axe mode hits = more juice for sword mode. More sword mode hits = more damage. R2 at any time to switch modes. Y during wile swings to buff axe for a buff in axe mode.
random fact: in the spanish translation the switchaxe is called "hacha cargada", which translates to "charged axe" so it took me a while to not mix it up with the charged blade in the streams
Charge Blade my Beloved! I love this goofy weapon so much. It's the sweatiest weapon but SAED is the single most satisfying move in the game when you pull it off.
IG-Main here. The IG is all about movement, trying to avoid the attacks while homing on weakpoints. It's also kind of a Puppet weapon because you fight with the Glaive and the Insect at the same Time.
Kinsect Glaive main here. It's not the best weapon to deal big boy damage right away but it's honest work. Once you get used to always extracting for your buffs, you go whrrr with great combos both ground and air!
GS is all about learning a monster's moveset and punishing it accordingly. It's a hit and run weapon but can shoulder bash to create openings. Hold Y to charge a punish depending on the opening just like in Jump King. Low skill floor but high skill ceiling and HUGE dmg.
A tip for farming later: You can also bring explosives along for when they fall asleep. If they all go off at once, it counts as one damage tick for the double damage.
