Vegeta has really grown since the Cell saga. Nowadays in current Dragon Ball lore he's actually nice, still competitive, but now he fights to help people and tries to atone for his past
If you're curious, Yes. Trunks defeated Android 17, 18, and Cell in 1 Episode. That goes for all versions of the anime. Trunks is "Skip Dialogue" as a person.
I remember this old fansite that had a 'what if' section for things like 'What if Krillin killed Vegeta?' with REALLY detailed stories...and most ended with 'And then Buu shows up and everyone dies'
