If I did my math right, the point at which you will have had a better than 50% chance of finding the shiny (that is, slightly better than coin toss odds) is 2839 resets. Also, math is evil so 4096 resets is only about 63.12%

Okay so funny story, young Brutus got silver for Christmas but I didn't have a Gameboy color back then. and my first Cyndaquil (ever) was a shiny! But in classic game boy it just looks like the
sprite is just a little lighter, so naturally I asked all my friends what was wrong with my game before resetting the game to "fix it". It took me almost 10 years to realize what I did.

it was easy in Pokemon X and Y because you could put a coin under the circle pad to just run arround and arround the tower thing because the camera just goes arround and arround to quickly hatch eggs.

Hey Calli, mathematically you should find the shiny around your 2839th attempt. Anything before that could be considered good luck, and anything after that would be bad luck. Ganbare!
Did the math because why not and assuming a 1/4096 chance for a shiny encounter (according to Google), it would take 2839 resets for an at least 50% chance of a shiny Giratina. Here's hoping your luck beats the math!
